FMT stories

Real-world experiences of those who have restored balance and health to their animals through fecal microbiota transplantation.

Bruno

We did two cycles of FMT (in 2025), and Bruno improved right from the first cycle.

He cyclically experiences bouts of itching on his paws and other parts of his body, but we manage to keep it fairly under control.

So far, he hasn't had any more episodes of diarrhea.

Vilma Fontana  (may 2026)

Sally

Sally started having episodes of vomiting and dysentery that wouldn't clear up with any medication.

In a short time, she had three hospitalizations for gastroenteritis. She had lost so much weight and just couldn't seem to recover.

Our wonderful vet, Dr. Enrica Mancarella, recommended a fecal transplant. After just a few weeks, Sally was back in shape, and by the end of the transplant, she had regained all the weight she lost—a full 8 kg!!!

Thank you from the bottom of our hearts. Ilaria & Sally

Sirah

Sirah, a 17-year-old Jack Russell, had reached a point where she was suffering from two-day-long colic episodes once a week; she wasn't eating, was losing weight, and had stools with blood and mucus.

Now she is doing much better; compared to how she was before, she has regained a real quality of life.

Colic episodes have occurred again, but six months apart rather than every single week as before.

I recommend this to everyone, and I strongly advise avoiding prolonged and useless expenses on other approaches when faced with chronic intestinal imbalance.

I think we will do regular cycles with the fecal transplant capsules at least once a year as maintenance.

Renè

My Renè, who is now 6 years old, was diagnosed two years ago with second-degree dysbiosis. Every specialist — except one (!) — judged it to be irreversible. This dysbiosis was secondary to immune-mediated meningitis that almost took him away from me. Desperate, but refusing to give up, I spent a year and a half doing tests, visiting specialists across Northern Italy, and making middle-of-the-night runs to the ER. He suffered from total loss of appetite, dramatic wasting, and was on palliative care (constant antibiotics, tylosin, every probiotic and supplement on the market, various medications, and wrong diets).
After frantic online research and immense expenses, I discovered I could try this path. It was the last chance. Well, the improvement was visible immediately: from day one of the first transplant until today, René has never had another crisis nor needed any medication, even though he remains a delicate dog. His weight is perfect, he is healthy and very active. A year after the first cycle, we did a booster to stabilize the situation and, once again, everything went perfectly.

Alessandro Caporiccio (January 2026)

Artù

We purchased the Fecal Transplant capsules for our cat Artù during a very delicate time: a complex clinical phase that had even led to hospitalization. Now Artù is doing great. He has regained balance, vitality, and quality of life, as if his body had finally found its internal compass again.
The situation before was truly dramatic, with soft and foul-smelling stools. He was even hospitalized because the situation had become completely unmanageable.

This is the result every owner hopes to see when facing such significant treatments. I would recommend it to everyone. It solved a problem he had dealt with his whole life.

I wish to express my sincere appreciation for the quality and the value provided in managing this difficult case.

Stefano Sacilotto (January 2026)

Rino

I received good assistance; I have nothing to complain about or suggest regarding the staff. However, I think few animals benefit from just a single transplant. Rino had two.
I can't really say if there was an actual improvement, as I still have to give him probiotics. I hope more patients join the research so you can lower the prices, precisely because I believe a single treatment is insufficient—we achieved poor results even with two treatments.
I understand, though, that everything depends on the severity of the case.

Francesco Ippolito (October 2025)

Gastone

Ever since he was a puppy, my dog started suffering from uncontrollable and unmanageable diarrhea. Weight loss, lack of appetite, and loss of vitality. As he grew, the problem became increasingly serious, severely undermining his health. We had lost all hope until my vet told me about the fecal transplant. We had tried every commercial treatment available, so we decided to give the transplant a try too. And thank goodness we did. My Gastone has been reborn, and along with him, so have we.

Laura Zoppello (October 2025)

Luna

Luna started from a rather serious situation: she had lost a massive amount of weight, was always low on energy, and had no appetite. Shortly after starting the therapy, she began to gain weight again, and to move and interact more. In a short time, she was back to her old self.

Giulia Salvatore (October 2025)

Persia

Thanks to the fecal transplant, my 15-and-a-half-year-old dog has resolved practically all of her gastrointestinal problems. For about a year, we struggled to find the right balance between food and medications (anti-nausea, anti-vomiting, etc.). With the fecal transplant, however, even after some time, the situation has stabilized and we have eliminated all medications.

Valentina Improta (October 2025)

Axel

Axel has always suffered from gastrointestinal problems since birth. At 3 years old, he was diagnosed with severe chronic protein-losing gastroenterocolonopathy. Axel had continuous episodes of vomiting and diarrhea with blood loss, stopped eating, and even had trouble walking; he was always exhausted. Thanks to the vets and a homemade diet, my little guy recovered, but he still had episodes of diarrhea accompanied by pain, albeit increasingly sporadic. In July 2024, Axel underwent a fecal transplant with truly amazing results. I noticed the effectiveness of the treatment about 20 days after the end of the transplant: Axel eats with more appetite, plays, and runs, getting tired much less than before.I heartfeltly thank my angels (my vets) and Dr. Simionati for making Axel—thanks also to the fecal transplant—a bright, lively, and happy furry friend.

Piera Maria Carli (October 2025)

Salvo

After trying numerous drug therapies for more than two years without any noticeable results in an attempt to resolve my dog Salvo's severe and chronic intestinal problems, I found out about Eubiome and the possibility of performing an oral fecal transplant.

It was our stroke of luck! Salvo improved rapidly, the projectile diarrhea resolved, and his stools became firm. Given the severity of the initial situation, I had to carry out three cycles of fecal transplant, which brought a real and lasting benefit. Two years later, Salvo passes stool almost perfectly every time; occasionally his stools are a bit less formed, but never diarrheic, and he no longer has stomach gurgling (borborygmi). He is continuing with his diet and probiotics and is doing well.

I believe that fecal transplant is an excellent therapeutic option, and if I could go back, I would use it much sooner because I am convinced that by intervening on an intestine less devastated by years of illness (as Salvo's unfortunately was), the results achieved with the fecal transplant could be even better and faster.

Heartfelt thanks to Dr. Barbara Simionati and the entire Eubiome team. .

Cristina Squaranti (october 2025)

Beyoncè

One year later, I am completely satisfied.

I recommend it to anyone who is having problems and doesn't know what else to do... this is the right method.

My furry baby thanks the staff, and of course, so do we two-legged folks, as we can now live much more peacefully.

Lorna Veneri (october 2025)

Koss

Koss is a German Shepherd who became severely ill at 24 months old. Thanks to his treatment plan, he made it out of that limbo; today, one year later, he has gone from 23 kg before starting the process to 37 kg, and he follows a diet tailored specifically for him. His stools are now perfect.

Nerone dopo l'FMT

Nerone

Giove dopo l'FMT

Giove

In January 2024, Giove could no longer pass normal stool; unfortunately, he was only passing blood. He was very weak and had lost about 1.5 kg, which, since he is a very small breed dog, meant he had lost a massive amount of weight. He spent all his time on the couch and could no longer live a normal life—no more short walks, nothing at all... We were terrified of losing him because it seemed like nothing could be done to help. Our vet told us about you and suggested we give it a try. Obviously, we were a bit scared by the costs of the therapy, but for our Giove, we took that gamble. About 15 days after starting the treatment, his rebirth began. His stools went back to normal, our furry friend's vitality returned to what it used to be, and he regained all his weight—in fact, now he's even a little chubby. This summer, he enjoyed plenty of sea and mountains; he walks a lot, while respecting the limits of his age a bit (he is 13 years old). As of today, the situation is stable, we can go on many walks, his life is back to what it used to be, and he is very happy (and consequently, so are we). We are so grateful to you for this therapy that gave us our Giove back. Thank you, we wish you all a Merry Christmas, and thank you again for allowing us to spend a peaceful holiday season with our beloved furry companion.

Momo

I would like to thank you for giving my Momo the chance to be healthy again. When every treatment seemed to have failed, the fecal transplant was the light at the end of the tunnel. Momo is back to his ideal weight (he had lost more than 8 kilos) and hasn't had any more episodes of acute diarrhea... actually, he hasn't had any episodes of diarrhea at all! 👍😊 He is doing well, doesn't take any medication and/or supplement, and has started doing many activities again that he had to stop during his two years of illness. He is happy, and we (his family) are even happier. He is, and always will be, a delicate dog, and I think we will always keep a close eye on him, but all in all, we are all trying to enjoy this long-awaited normalcy. As far as I'm concerned, gratitude has no expiration date, and I will always be grateful to you for helping my dog become healthy again. Best regards and heartfelt wishes for your studies—may they always be the path to reaching new, life-saving milestones, but never an end. With esteem and admiration.

 Momo dopo l'FMT
Nina dopo l'FMT

Nina

Teo dopo l'FMT

Teo

Teo, a 10-year-old mixed-breed dog, started having recurrent hemorrhagic diarrhea 2 years ago and became very ill with severe colic, which led to him being hospitalized several times. Today, thanks to Eubiome—recommended by Dr. Gianesini of the Clinica Veterinaria San Marco—Teo's chronic enteropathy and dysbiosis are under constant control, thanks also to repeated cycles of FMT. There is still a long way to go, but the improvements were visible after just a few months.

Ophelia

Zara dopo l'FMT

Zara

I discovered that Zara was suffering from IBD before she was even 1 year old. At the age of 5, we went through moments that were dramatic, to say the least: after years of treatments, she was no longer responding to any medication and kept having diarrhea. So, we decided to try the fecal microbiota transplant. Immediately after the first treatment, there was a clear improvement: perfect stools and weight gain. Between the first and second cycles, there were some brief relapses, but they were all resolved without major problems. The thing that makes me happiest is that Zara hasn't taken any medication since the very first treatment.

  Barbara Biancalana

Gino

For more than a year, Gino had nothing but diarrhea several times a day. We tried everything: diet, drug therapies, different vets (some of whom were definitely superficial). Gino stabilized right after the first treatment, and with the second one, he started gaining weight again: from 22/23 kg, now, two years later, he is stable at 38 kg. I highly recommend fecal transplant, and I recommend Eubiome for their attentiveness and collaboration with the vet to verify the suitability of the potential treatment.

Tea dopo l'FMT

Tea

Tea, a 5-year-old Westie, had always had gastrointestinal problems. She constantly suffered from yellowish vomiting and a lack of appetite. We were only able to control the symptoms through continuous administrations of cortisone. When our vet told us about the FMT project, we joined out of desperation. Today, Tea no longer suffers from the problem, and we actually have to keep her in check because she is always hungry now!

Brian era pelle e ossa. Con il trapianto fecale è rinato!!

FMT Brian Florencia Rastelli

Miele

My 5-year-old dog Miele has been suffering from IBD since she was a puppy. After various ups and downs with vet visits, tests, nutrition, etc., during her last relapse I found out about Eubiome's fecal transplant. We did one cycle and her microbiota improved; Miele is back to having perfect stools, a good appetite, and a great desire to play.

Case study di Bruno

Bruno is the very first to have undergone the transplant with Eubiome. He had been suffering from IBD for 5 years. At 11 years old, he had the transplant and started to get better. Today (2024) he is nearly 18; he is starting to feel the effects of old age, but his stools are perfect. His case was published in the journal Animals.

Le testimonianze dei donatori!

I am a veterinarian with a specific focus on nutrition, a field in which I consider the role of the intestinal microbiota and its balance (eubiosis/dysbiosis) central to maintaining overall health. My involvement in this project stems from the desire to promote a physiological and integrated approach to animal management.

Amelia represents a model consistent with this vision: since she was a puppy, she has been managed according to principles of dietary diversity and with a targeted, limited use of pharmacological treatments. She lives in a rural mountain environment, with ample space and natural stimuli—conditions that contribute to maintaining homeostasis and overall well-being.

Eleonora Cervato e Amelia (Donor)

Fortunately, my Uma has become a donor because I want to help other dogs suffering from intestinal problems. I am convinced that her donation can make a big difference in the lives of many animals, and I want to contribute to improving their health and well-being.

I am a great animal lover and want to do everything I can to help them.

I am convinced that scientific research and regenerative medicine can make great strides in treating animal diseases. I am proud of my dog and I want her donation to be an example for others.

Teresa Vinci e Uma (Donor)

For years I have been dedicated to microbiota transplantation in humans, and when, as a partner of Eubiome, I had the opportunity to help not only people but also animals in need, I didn't think twice. Ettore, my domestic shorthair cat, proved to be an excellent donor specimen. Ettore lives indoors and it was incredibly easy to join the Pet-FMT Project without affecting anyone's habits in the family—least of all Ettore's, who happily spends his days napping and playing, unaware of being so useful to many of his less fortunate fellow cats.

I had the opportunity to learn about the Pet-FMT Project and, out of curiosity, I agreed to try and have Iago, our dachshund, become a microbiome donor. With great satisfaction, I verified that Iago is healthy—in fact, incredibly healthy—and that with very little effort, we could help less fortunate dogs and owners. And so it was, and I assure you that the effort required is far, far less than the satisfaction obtained!

Carla Franch e Iago (Donor)

I have always believed in the potential of solidarity and mutual help to bring about positive changes in the community. When I first learned about this project, I was immediately struck by it and decided to take part. This way, I could support scientific research—another value I hold dear—while at the same time doing good for animals in need, at zero cost to me and, in fact, with benefits for my dog.

Giada Mascotto e Laika (Donor)

I am a partner of Eubiome because I love animals, Corgis in particular :-)) It felt completely natural for us to support this fascinating project, which is unique in Europe. Along with Achille and Eubiome, we hope to be helpful in reducing unnecessary suffering, now that it is clear that the intestinal flora plays a critical role in health and disease—and above all, that a solution exists when it becomes imbalanced, leading to diseases such as IBD, chronic enteropathies, and more.
